April’s Forzathon Events in Forza Motorsport 7 Takes The Competitive Edge

April has officially begun, and with it, a new set of Forzathon events have arrived into Forza Motorsport 7. However, there’s a twist. Instead of each event featuring multiple challenges that need to be completed in sequence order, these events simply have one challenge that needs to be beaten for the event prize to be unlocked.

The challenges are also easier than usual as well, with simple tasks such as completing race events and achieving an easy-to-reach drift score. The prizes available for beating these events include the 2014 Chevrolet Super Sport Forza Edition, the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Forza Edition, the 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo, and the Snake Driver Gear suit.

As usual, you can find out full breakdown of each new Forzathon event in Forza Motorsport 7 for the month of April below:

#Forzathon Running Wild

  • Challenge: Drive 1 Lap at the Nürburgring Full Circuit in a Track Toys division car
  • Prize: Snake Driver Gear
  • Date: April 1st – May 1st

This event can be tied with the ‘Competitive Edge’ Forzathon event where you simply need to win a race in a Track Toys division car. I chose the 2016 Lotus 3-Eleven, configured a Track Toys race in Free Play with five other Drivatar AI racers, and then raced one-lap of the full Nürburgring circuit – that means both the GP and Nordschleife combined.

Obviously, the race should only be set to a single lap, and once I had completed it – that was two Forzathon events already done and dusted.

#Forzathon Showing Off

  • Challenge: Get a Drift Score of 3,000 in a Single Lap at Maple Valley in the Rain
  • Prize: 2014 Chevrolet Super Sport Forza Edition
  • Date: April 1st – May 1st

For this event, you’ll need to ensure you set the game mode in Free Play to ‘Drift.’ Once you’ve done that, you can opt for any car of your choosing. 3,000 Drift Score is easily attainable, even for the most novice of player. Use the full Maple Valley circuit, disable traction and stability control, and head out onto the track. After a few slides, you should have this one in no time at all!

#Forzathon Cherry Blossoms

  • Challenge: Complete a race at Suzuka in a Japanese car
  • Prize: 2016 Mazda MX-5 Forza Edition
  • Date: April 1st – May 1st

This Forzathon event requires you to head to the fan-favourite circuit of Suzuka – located in Japan, in a Japanese car. I decided to opt for the Nissan GT-R Super GT race car from the Forza GT division, but you can choose any car from the region that you desire. You don’t need to win the race, but you will need to complete it – so feel free to keep the lap count low so you can quickly beat it.

#Forzathon Competitive Edge

  • Challenge: Win a Race in a Track Toys division car
  • Prize: 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo
  • Date: April 1st – May 1st

As mentioned earlier, this Forzathon event can be completed in dual with the ‘Running Wild’ event. Take the 2016 Lotus 3-Eleven to the full Nürburgring circuit with both the GP and Nordschleife combined and win a race set to be one-lap only. Once you have it done, you’ll unlock both Forzathon events without any hassle.

#Forzathon April Roundup

These are all the Forzathon events available over the next four weeks in Forza Motorsport 7. Unlike past events, these ones all updated immediately once I had completed them – meaning I didn’t need to reattempt certain events or reload into other races for them to be tracked. Naturally, your mileage may vary, but these have been by far the smoothest and easiest Forzathon events yet to obtain in Forza Motorsport 7.

Looking ahead, fans can look forward to the April Car Pack and Content Update for Forza Motorsport 7 on April 10th and can even unlock new Minecraft Driver Gear suits in the game. Events were also recently added to celebrate April Fool’s Day. In addition, the 2018 season of competitive racing in the Forza Racing Championship has officially begun, and you can learn more about how to register and compete in our dedicated ForzaRC coverage.
