All eyes are set on the launch of Forza Horizon 3’s Xbox One X Enhanced Update next week, delivering the beauty and fun of Horizon Australia in staggering native 4K resolution. Whilst we await our eyecandy for this coming Monday, there’s lot happening in the world of Forza Motorsport 7, and this weekend, we have new Leagues and Hoppers events, details on the latest Rivals Bounty Hunter, as well as clues for the upcoming January Car Pack.

New Leagues & Hoppers Await

Let’s start with some Forza Racing Leagues. Series 3 of the current ‘New Year, New League’ season is live from tomorrow onwards in Forza Motorsport 7, and with it comes a new Ghost and Simulation event, including the Historic Road Racing and Supercar Renaissance divisions, respectively. There’s also yet another Spec Sim event featuring the Ford Falcon XR8.

In terms of Hoppers, fans can enjoy two new class-based Breakout Hoppers – R Class and C Class, which sit alongside the currently existing A, S, and P Class Breakout Hoppers. Now all we need are X, B, D, and E Class Hoppers, and the full suite of Forza Motorsport 6’s class-based Hopper events will finally be available in Forza Motorsport 7, which now has a total of 18 Hoppers. Hopefully we also see The ABC'S and All-Star Cycled Production make a comeback soon as well.

January Bounty Hunter

The January Bounty Hunter event commences next week in Forza Motorsport 7, and this month’s bounty is no other than John Schommer, who the Forza community knows as ‘Johniwanna.’ As revealed in the latest Forza Motorsport Week in Review, the team had to figure out which car would be perfect for his Bounty Hunter event due to him being such an avid car collector. The team ultimately decided on the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST, which players will drive in a Track Day event on Mugello Full.

The prizes for this month’s Bounty Hunter event include the 1977 Ford Escort RS1800 and the 2018 New Year’s Eve Driver Gear suit, the latter of which was previously exclusive to viewers of Brian Ekberg’s New Year’s Eve livestream. Both prizes will be available to anyone who participates in the event. A Twitter poll next week will let voters decide the car that will be available for beating John’s time. The January Bounty Hunter begins on Tuesday, January 16th, so you better get practising!

January Car Pack

Not only does the new Bounty Hunter open on January 16th, but that’s also the date fans can enjoy some new cars in Forza Motorsport 7 with the game’s next Car Pack. The official clue thread in the Forza Forums was released this week, allowing fans to make their best guesses as to which cars will be in the next Car Pack. Naturally, each of them are vague in their own way, but some folks usually manage to figure out at least one or more of the cars included from these cryptic clues.

You can find all seven clues for yourself below:

  • Car 1: Sometimes the key is to just look all around you.
  • Car 2: Not the ideal getaway car, but it did work famously.
  • Car 3: Dustin Hoffman knows where the motor is. Do you?
  • Car 4: I’m happy each inner member shares a factor with either the first or the last member. Exclusivity adds value and makes it even more special.
  • Car 5: The Tokyo skyline is such a glorious thing, I wish I could go back and see it.
  • Car 6: One thing it was not light on was the competition.
  • Car 7: A wise man once said: “Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.”

Take Me Back To Horizon Australia

With the release of the Xbox One X Enhanced Update for Forza Horizon 3 almost upon us, many will be returning to the Horizon Festival once more, likely in need of some spare cash and vehicles. Luckily, the latest Forzathon event offers both the Lamborghini Huracán Horizon Edition and the eagerly sought-after Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. There’s also some wheelspins and credits available as well.

I’ll be diving back into Forza Horizon 3 this coming Monday to experience it in 4K HDR on Xbox One X, and I’ll be sharing my impressions of the enhancements hopefully later in the week if all goes to plan, so keep it locked to FullThrottle for all the latest on the Forza franchise. Next week is sure to be a good one with long-awaited updates for both Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7 dropping on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

Until then, feast your appetite with some details on the next entry in the Forza franchise, as well as our Xbox One X Review, which takes a look at several Xbox One X Enhanced titles.
