Far Cry 5 has retained its position as the best-selling physical
game in the UK for the week ending April 7th, with sales dropping by 69% in its
second week of release. It’s a similar story for FIFA 18 and Sea of Thieves,
which were both the second and third best-selling titles in the UK last week,
Following both non-movers is Forza
Motorsport 7, which continues to push its way back up the UK Chart –
accelerating from ninth to fourth this week. Forza Motorsport 7 is currently
down to £23.99 at UK retailer GAME, which has
led to its recent push in sales.
Another Microsoft title follows Forza Motorsport 7 with the
Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in fifth position, which means the platform-holder has three titles in the UK Top 5 this week. Call of
Duty: WWII follows in sixth, whilst Mario Kart 8: Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch
places in seventh. Grand
Theft Auto V continues its success on the charts by climbing two spots to
eighth – more than four years after its initial release.
Elsewhere on the chart, Gran Turismo
Sport climbs five positions to fourteenth, whilst Star Wars Battlefront II
re-enters the Top 40 in sixteenth. Burnout
Paradise Remastered has dropped twelve positions from sixteenth to
twenty-eighth over the last week, as Need for Speed
Payback falls two positions to thirty-first.
The standalone Xbox One chart in the UK tells a similar
story to the UK All Formats Top 40. Leading the way is Far Cry 5, Sea of
Thieves, and Forza Motorsport 7, respectively, with Grand Theft Auto V in
seventh and Forza Horizon 3 in fifteenth.
Overall, with a lack of new releases in the last seven days,
it has given older titles the chance to reshuffle on the charts and for those in
promotional sales like Forza Motorsport 7 to see a surge in units sold through
to consumers. You can find the full charts for the UK
All Formats Top 40 and this week’s Individual
Xbox One Software Chart over on the official GFK Chart-Track website.
