The 2019 season of the Forza Racing Championship will focus exclusively on team racing via an invitational series.
As revealed on the official social media accounts of Microsoft’s premier racing esports series, teams competing in the 2019 ForzaRC season will consist of 3 drivers and a coach, and all eligible teams that will be competing this year were pre-selected and have already been notified.
Microsoft says that the full rundown of details for its next ForzaRC season will be shared during the next edition of Forza Monthly, broadcasting on August 27th, so be sure to stay tuned for more news on that date. Soon after, the company will then share the official roster announcements featuring the teams and drivers who will be competing in this year’s season.
With the introduction of teams and coaches, the 2019 season of the Forza Racing Championship emphasizes strategy – a similar approach that’s being taken towards the development of the next entry in the Forza Motorsport franchise. An example of this, as noted by Turn 10’s Eliott Lyons on the last Forza Monthly show, was this idea of asking teams to build cars on a budget and then getting coaches to use math to figure out the best builds to use in a race.
