Amazon has announced that its developing a video game based on The Grand
Tour. It’s the first console title to be revealed from the Amazon Game Studios initiative and it will allow you to drive the cars from the original automotive show in the locations visited by hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May.
The Grand Tour Game is designed to be “the first and only playable TV show in which you get to play the actual scenes you’ve seen on screen.” Whatever happens on-screen in the show, you’ll get to experience for yourself in the game. There’s also a Season Pass, and during Season 3, as a new episode drops every Friday, you’ll get new vehicles and tracks from that episode to play in the game.
Amazon says The Grand Tour Game will feature “the incredible cars, exotic locations, and ridiculous challenges from the first episode of The Grand Tour Seasons 1 and 2, and all of Season 3,” and you’ll be able to play as Clarkson, Hammond and May with each new episode of Season 3. There’s also a four-player split-screen multiplayer mode, too.
The Grand Tour Game is expected to launch later this year – and it’ll be available on both Xbox
One and PlayStation 4. Additional details, such as pricing, will likely be revealed soon, and we’ll be sure to update this story and bring you that info once we have it. For now, check out the above trailer and screenshots, and take the time to formulate your own thoughts on this one. Let’s just say it looks very, uhm interesting, shall we?
