Codemasters has revealed that ONRUSH will feature Campaign Co-op,
allowing you to enjoy the single-player experience with a buddy online. The
news was shared in an updated ONRUSH FAQ by
Community Manager Aaron Rook, and as a huge fan of Forza
Horizon 3’s implementation of Campaign Co-op, seeing this feature make its
way into ONRUSH has me very excited.
ONRUSH will come fully-loaded with a single-player campaign
experienced that’s packed with “nearly 100 individual events.” These races will
see you compete and test your skills against other AI drivers, and they can all
be played cooperatively with a friend online.
If you’d rather race with multiple players at once in a
competitive online environment, then ONRUSH also has you covered with its 6v6
online multiplayer. With 12 players in a session at any one time joined by 12
AI vehicles in the mix, ONRUSH’s multiplayer will be as hectic as the trailers
that have been released to showcase the game! Indeed, 24 vehicles in total will
ensure that you’re always in the carnage.
ONRUSH also features Fodder, and whilst we spoke about these
already in our recent trailer
breakdown story, it’s worth reminding you again as to what they are and how
they can benefit your ONRUSH experience. So, Fodder are neutral AI vehicles
always in the action and their sole purpose is literally to create even more
carnage. Players can take them down for an instant hit of boost, and you’ll
find 12 of them at once in any session.
Whilst ONRUSH is packed with online features – including multiplayer
and campaign co-op, there will be no implementation of split-screen. As revealed
Codemasters, the feature is something the team adores, but it’s not doable
due to the “ambitus timeline before release” for ONRUSH. Instead, the team is prioritizing
the online experience to make it as exhilarating as possible.
That’s all the latest on ONRUSH for now, but expect even
more news and gameplay
reveals as launch approaches! June 5th is less than
three months away, and with the Open Beta planned for Xbox One and
PlayStation 4 in May, there’s a lot to look forward to leading up to the game’s
release date. We’ll have everything you need to know about ONRUSH here on
FullThrottle, so make sure you stay tuned for all the latest on everything
Codemasters and ONRUSH-related!
