You’ve likely caught our detailed
hands-on preview with The Crew 2 from earlier this week, as well as our
introductory gameplay video captured from the Xbox One X Enhanced version of the game. In case you didn’t, however, Ubisoft did invite us to their pre-launch preview event for The Crew 2 at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey, UK last month and the embargo for coverage from our hands-on session with the upcoming open-world racing game lifted on Wednesday, May 16th.
Whilst our video featuring the first
7 minutes of gameplay footage from The Crew 2 that we released earlier in the week didn’t include any voiceover – so you could soak in all the gameplay and absorb those incredible car sounds, this one from our FullThrottle co-owner and car aficionado Tom
Matthews features full commentary. This is handy for those who would like a voiceover to discuss everything you’re currently seeing on-screen.
In the video, Tom discusses the vast changes Ubisoft has made to The Crew 2 over its predecessor, which has seen the revenge-inspired storyline replaced with a motorsports competition where the best of the best has come out to compete for pure racing glory. The handling model has been improved drastically in this game over The Crew, which compliments its racing-inspired gameplay. The video also showcases each of the main different vehicle types in the game – cars, boats and planes.
As well as the introductory showcase sequence, the video from Tom also features the Street Racing motorsport discipline in Los Angeles as he proves his eligibility to be deemed worthy of joining the street racing family – driving the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS around the streets, backroads and ramps which have been placed into the City of Angels by The Crew 2’s developer, Ivory Tower. Be sure to check out his video above for his first-look at Ubisoft’s latest racing game.
If you like what you see, be sure to sign-up for the
Closed Beta, which opens on May 31st. The Crew 2 will be available
worldwide on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on June 29th.
