The Budget Supercar Challenge has returned to Forza Motorsport 7 for its second episode. Host Tom Matthews will be putting the 2011 Peugeot 308 GTi to the test on the legendary Top Gear Test Track in Dunsfold, England to see if it’s faster than the 2011 McLaren 12C.
In last week’s
episode, the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR beat the McLaren by almost a second. The benchmark set by the iconic supercar is 1:13.750 – that’s the overall benchmark for this series, and it remains intact for this week’s episode as the D-class Peugeot 308 GTi is put to the test. You know, it’s a nan’s car – but there you have it.
Tom takes the Peugeot out to the Top Gear Test Track in its stock form without any upgrades for three laps where the FWD car achieves a respectable 1:33.141 – but it does mean 20 seconds needs to be knocked off the final time once the upgrades have been installed.
With a budget of 100,000 credits, Tom takes his Peugeot to the Forza Motorsport 7 Upgrade Shop for some new performance and tuning upgrades, but will it be enough to surpass the benchmark time set by the 2011 McLaren 12C? You’ll need to find out for yourself by checking out his video above!
Like before, the video integrates both the cockpit camera view and the replay angles in Forza Motorsport 7 – adding to both the difficulty and immersion of the challenge, whilst offering viewers a cinematic look at the action on-track as the upgraded Peugeot attempts to beat the time of a McLaren 12C within 6 laps on the Top Gear Test Track.
