Rockstar Games has announced that GTA Online is set to receive its “biggest, most daring, and action-packed addition yet” on December 15 in The Cayo Perico Heist. Players will be tasked with infiltrating a remote island compound that is home to “the world’s most notorious drug dealer.”

In your endeavour to breach Cayo Perico, you’ll have to avoid or takeout heavily armed security forces stationed across the island and escape with valuable evidence along with as much art, gold and drug money that you can carry.

Embark on The Cayo Perico Heist either with a crew of up to four players or for the first time in the history of GTA Online Heists, alone. However, you decide to approach it, it’s on you to pick the weapons and nail down an approach.

In addition to the exotic island of Cayo Perico and “a brand-new approach to Heist design,” players can look forward to new vehicles, tactical weapons and experience new social spaces to dance and party in with friends, as well as new “world-class guest DJs” and several new radio stations with over 100 fresh songs. Rockstar has also teased that the update will feature “a very large, very versatile, and very heavily armed submarine HQ with plenty of other surprises.”

Last week, Rockstar Games challenged the GTA Online community to earn GTA$100 billion in Heist Finale earnings between November 12th and November 18th. The player base smashed the challenge by stealing more than GTA$1 trillion. Because of their efforts, everyone can look forward to “a special new vehicle” free to claim for a limited time following the release of the update.

The Cayo Perico Heist can be undertaken in GTA Online once its next update arrives on Tuesday, December 15th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. It can also be experienced via backwards compatibility on the newly-released Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles.
