With just over two months left to go until the release of Codemasters' all-new arcade, fast-paced racer, ONRUSH, we here at FullThrottle Media have been lucky enough to get some hands-on impressions and exclusive gameplay footage to share with you guys at home. Whilst at the ONRUSH London event last week, Isaac and I manged to capture two of the four, all-new race-modes that will feature throughout the game.
The first video showcases the game mode Countdown, which is not to be confused with the longtime running British panel show about spelling words in 30 seconds. ONRUSH's Countdown game mode, pits two teams of six racers to fight for checkpoints, whilst a 30 second clock counts down. Whichever team member gets through the checkpoint first scores a time bonus for their team, and adds to the reducing time. The first team to lose all their time loses, and a point is awarded to the other team. The first team to win two rounds wins the game.
The second game mode we managed to capture was Overdrive. This game mode, once again pits the two teams of six players against each other, but this time, the idea is to score the most amount of points by using the boost throughout the race. The boost can be attained by crashing into other players, or smashing into the AI, or doing some insane stunts to fill up your boost bar at the bottom of the screen. The first team to win 3 rounds of this game are then deemed the overall winner of this game mode.
