Ubisoft has revealed the third vehicle as part of its weekly
Motorsports Vehicle Series leading up to the release of The Crew 2 – its
upcoming sequel to the ambitious open-world racer that launched in 2014 and included
a humongous map spanning the entirety of the United States of America.
This week’s vehicle is the 2018 Vector V40R powerboat – an
extreme race boat featuring twin Mercury Racing engines for a whopping combined
2200bhp at 6500rpm. Aptly dubbed the “queen of the seas,” this one is a masterclass
that showcases the positive impact recent advances in technology have had on
design and performance.
First unveiled in 2014, the V40R uses a high-tech Kevlar and
Carbon Fibre laminate, which keeps the craft lightweight while also adding
strength and stiffness. Add the raw power of its engines, and you have a
combination that neither storms nor high seas can stop.
This quality has earned Vector a prestigious partner for
their racing team, in the form of renowned British automaker Jaguar. Together,
they’re poised to push the boundaries of performance and technical excellence,
carrying Jaguar Vector Racing to new heights.
The Vector V40R will be available from the Pro Racing HQ in
The Crew 2, but only the most skilled powerboat pilots will have the chance to
put this beast to the test!
The Crew 2 will be available on
June 29th, 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, and takes advantage of
the Xbox One X
and PS4 Pro consoles. It will be available three days early, on June 26th,
2018, for Gold Edition owners on all aforementioned platforms. There will also
be a Closed
Beta available to select participants before release.
If you missed them,
be sure to check out the Zivko Edge
540 V3 and the new 2018
Renault Megane R.S. hatchback – both debuting in The Crew 2.
